From 17 onwards my life was a bumpy ride. Married by 18 to my boyfriend, living in Sydney on the North Shore, him working for ABC TV and myself still travelling to Richmond to dance classical ballet.
Being involved in television leads you to some pretty funny times and a lot of hanging out with media people and smoking a lot of pot and laughing ourselves stupid.
Whilst all of this was happening I was also snorkelling naked in one of Manly's quiet coves, running Balmoral Beach every morning and working in a jewellers in Crows Nest. Then I changed to dancing with another teacher in North Sydney which lead me to another teacher from the corps de ballet of The Australian Ballet Company.
I learnt to stretch my adductors with a Sydney Morning Herald extended between my legs stretched wide on the floor and I became a little softer in my movements.
My life began to take a turn in my marriage as I was lonely by having a shift working husband and one that didnt want to share my mind. Not his fault, he didnt know how to. But we eventually ended up apart.
I drifted off in life from one situation to another and years later I ended up on a blind date.
That was the longest night I had ever had in my life. I waited for most of the night for the blind date to show up to where I was living in Northbridge. It was set up by my girlfriend who was dating an Italian who had a stretch limousine.
It was hideous waiting for this limousine blind date to show up, but when he did I jumped in the limousine and he was on the phone. Making a deal... I knew straight away he was dealing drugs.
My life had no direction so I just monitored this chauffeur all night. Ended up in the bathroom snorting cocaine with my girlfriend and eventually about midnight we hit Bobby McGees in Darling Harbour. Dancing the night away and then arrived at Tiffany's in Kings Cross for breakfast.
Oh what a night!
